When asked about his experience in the program and how the mentors shaped his approach as a distiller, Ryan said that the experience changed his opinion on what day-to-day life is like for a craft distiller, but it also reinforced the idea that reps are important. Some distilling jobs might be like that, but at a small and growing distillery, I have to manage inventory, ordering, scheduling, quality control and more while also making sure we meet our production quotas.” “Distilling is way more than just standing in front of a still or starting fermentation. We have to get it right every time.” Ryan says his biggest takeaway from the program was that: “Silverback has strict standards for flavor but don’t work in large enough volumes that would really allow for “covering” mistakes. After graduating from the Silverback Apprenticeship Distiller Program last February 27, 2023, they are now also taking on the role as distillers at Silverback.įor Ryan, the most challenging aspect of the apprenticeship was to meet the standards, while also meeting expectations for yields and previous sales numbers. “And it was exciting to share our knowledge with them and to see their joy with the creation of being a distiller” Most of our customers, especially those who hang around the tasting room often would know Ryan and Jarrad for being our Poconos General Manager (Ryan) and Afton Operations Manager (Jarrad), respectively. Master Distiller Christine Riggleman describes the experience as “a rewarding experience” to be able to share this craft with the apprentices. Hence, having a team in place that is knowledgeable is crucial for the next steps and that is what makes this apprenticeship program very important in our distillery.” As Silverback Distillery continues to grow, we want to maintain and improve the quality of our products. “When we first started Silverback, we had so many questions and had to hunt down answers! We’ve learned a lot in almost 9 years that have passed and we’re eager to share this with our production employees. “The inspiration behind this program was sharing knowledge.” according to Master Distiller Lauren Riggleman. In this program our apprentices learn our grain-to-glass approach, mentored by our experienced Master Distillers, Christine Riggleman, CEO and founder of Silverback Distillery, award-winning distiller, ranked in the top 13 gin distillers in the world and Lauren Riggleman, International Brewing & Distilling Tutor, SIlverback Distillery COO and course creator of the PVCC Intro to Distilling. In our quick interview with the Master Distillers and the newly graduated apprentices, they share their insight on the program and its significance for both Silverback as well as their distiller journey moving forward. The Silverback Apprentice Distiller program aims to give opportunities for career advancement in the craft distilling industry by providing a hands-on immersive experience in different production processes. Being one of the few craft distilleries that is truly hands-on from grain to glass in every step of the process (no laptops running our processes) our apprentices get a true sense of how to create and how to understand each step with a deeper complexity. Silverback Distillery is proud to announce the graduates of our first Silverback Apprentice Distiller program, Ryan “Rye Guy” Blackwell and Jarrad “J-Rad” Wisherd!

Patricia Krenwinkel was a 19-year-old secretary when she met Manson at a party. However, she was finally freed after Newsom announced last week that he wouldn't pursue efforts to keep her behind bars. She was repeatedly recommended for parole, but two governors - first Jerry Brown and then Gavin Newsom - blocked her release. Van Houten, 73, earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in counseling while in prison and led several prison programs to help rehabilitate fellow inmates. Then, ordered by Manson follower Charles “Tex” Watson to “do something,” she said she picked up a knife and stabbed the woman more than a dozen times. She has described holding down Rosemary LaBianca with a pillowcase over her head as others stabbed LaBianca dozens of times. She didn’t take part in the Tate killings but accompanied Manson and others to the LaBianca home the next night. Charles Manson was a petty criminal who had been in and out of jail since childhood when he reinvented himself in the late 1960s as a guru-philosopher. I n February 2022, Asia Times reported on Pakistan and Turkey’s partnership to jointly develop a 5 th generation fighter to replace their aging F-16 fleets. It is powered by a Russian AL-31F engine and is considered competitive against non-5 th generation aerial threats while still being cheaper than competing types. The J-10 is billed as China’s answer to the US F-16 and Swedish Gripen. In January 2022, Asia Times reported Pakistan’s announcement to acquire 36 Chinese J-10 fighter jets to counter India’s French-made Rafale fighters. Russia may thus be counting on India’s longstanding dependence on Russian-made weapons to keep its Su-75 project viable, particularly at a time India feels the need to counter rival Pakistan’s fast-improving air force through China’s support. It also states that it can fly at Mach 1.8, has an operating range of 3,000 kilometers and that a pilot batch of the fighter is expected to be produced in 2026. The report notes that the Su-75 is a single-engine light fighter featuring an internal weapons bay, has a seven-ton payload, and can strike six targets simultaneously. The TASS report notes that the Su-75 was designed as an export product, with an open systems architecture that allows it to meet diverse customer requirements.
